The Mekong Delta of Vietnam is delimited by the tributaries of the Mekong River. This area, which is criss-crossed by a dense network of canals, is fertile and excellent for the cultivation of rice and growing fruit trees.
The sun shines all year round in the Mekong Delta. There is no winter and there are no storms. However, every year between August and October, the water of the Mekong River rises flooding the delta.
In this territory, there is the Thap Muoi Stock Garden, the U Minh Forest, and the salt forests of mangroves that had not yet been exploited only a decade ago. There are also immense fruit orchards; the most impressive of which are located on the islands in the river. The Mekong River Delta is much appreciated by those interested in ecological tourism.
As for the local inhabitants of the Mekong Delta, are spontaneous, sincere, straightforward, and hospitable. To enjoy this whole cultural experience, visitors can attend performances of traditional Cai Luong theatre, that can be seen in this area.
